From 90 minutes of; "At the park puppy play".....to "Out like a light mode"....This is Harley, a 7month old Black and Tan CoonHound.Introducing the newest member of our household:
Miss Chelsea...She was adopted a year ago, shortly after we lost Play-Doh....A spunky, silly, playful, always child-like little vixen. Yet another asset to our dog walking, outdoor dogs. She is the main protagonist for SUPER... Play Time at the park!
delightful and loving old gal who played assistant to me for our growing day-time and weekend family over the years....
Play-Doh is the inspiration for the emergence of my very different style of dog walking service. I have loved dogs since I can remember, and at 12 my parents brought home Benji a wonderful Bouvier Des Flandes. I was thrilled to have the job of walking the puppy three times a day..SO MUCH... that our neighbors saw in me that maternal light I have never lost; I went onto to be neighborhood babysitter par excellence and chief animal advocate; This became a business of the heart and grew rapidly into
My First Instant Hit!
What We Are...
1. ADAPTABLE...
My practice ranges from in home "TLC" visits for small breeds, elderly canines, and special needs dogs. I can help new puppy owners through the initial first year of training and socializing their newest family member, to giving lots of TLC to a housebound canine. I have had success with separation anxiety, enjoyed giving individual attention to special needs pets, and am always up for sharing all my energy to highly wound up breeds, who need lots of run-time, playing catch and so on!
Cuddling and grooming are free!
The end result:
A truly happier dog!
Theo..from top to bottom; at 10 weeks old, to four months playing at the park, to well, 7 months right after a good old fashioned 45 minute run!!!
When my son was just a little boy, we brought home two bubbly, bouncy Boxer pups: Play-doh and Scully. It wasn't long before we were taking them everywhere and somehow......... "Play time in the park with Play-doh and Pals"..... emerged. Over the years it has become a multi-faceted service. My love of dogs has created a wonderful practice, where clients feel truly confident about leaving their pets in my care, whether it be for the duration of a vacation, over a weekend, or just for a few hours to doggy-sit!
My in home service also extends to dog owners who do not wish to have their pets in off leash parks and just want a simple dog walk, or want someone to check in on their dogs during any extended period of time ( while they are at work). This applies mostly to clients who have senior dogs and/or much smaller breed dogs.
Every pet needs, wants
AND DESERVES
LOVE,
ATTENTION, TOUCH, EXERCISE
AND INTERACTION
2. WHERE WE ARE GOING
Many dog owners have no option but to leave their pets to spend many hours alone at home. My goal is to reach as many dog owners as I can, in and around the several downtown neighborhoods in Toronto, and work toward creating a network of dog owners working together, neighborhood by neighborhood.
MY GOAL
To integrate MY CURRENT therapy practice's philosophy: Reaching out to ALL WHO ARE IN NEED. This includes my current long term patients; giving massage therapy, touch therapy, and positive, gentle healing for many different aliments....I have now extended this practice for my four legged buddies as well!!!
FAR too many of us experience social and emotional isolation...
Residing where Toronto's beating Heart is strongest...this city's Core Communities!
Isolation is a 21ST century FACT in all societies. Social illness can have many faces...Our secondary goal is to develop a volunteer based system, where free dog walks, and in home visits can take place; increasing my free dog walks for home bound folks in our area.
Over time, I can amalgamate my Pain Therapy Practice ( I already visit patients who cannot any longer manage the total care of their own pets)...
with "Play-Dohs' Dog Walking"
Allowing me to fully establish my non-profit pet care organization.
AND...
3. Our Pricing Policy.
Over time, especially with the aid of this website, I can establish greater community awareness... helping one another with as many volunteer dog walks as we possibly can!!
*My prices are at par, and below par (for those who qualify).
