Five years ago as a recently divorced mom of a teenage son, and with one surviving pet left in our now small family, I purchased a charming condominium in this lovely Victorian five story building. It has been such a positive experience for both myself and my last surviving Boxer: Play-Doh, that during this time I made a huge and very scary decision........To go back to my roots.......working with animals again!!!!.
Play-doh was a very large part of this "EUREKA" moment and in his memory I have named our grassroots, small company. I knew the time had arrived for me to open my long forgotten vault of childhood loves and dreams and look within to re-discover what was missing from my life. EVERYTHING began to immediately fall into place as I was massaging Play-Doh's arthritic legs. This was something I always did before our outings together, and this time when I began to sense his energy move into balance again, I knew that my skills as a therapist belonged to the animals I had spent my entire life rescuing, caring for, and fostering since my very first childhood memories.
It was at this moment that I renewed my childhood commitment to the care of animals; this time as a full-time, income earning service...... And now, a few years later, I have fully embarked upon this new career as I go forth into the second part of my life; a mature single woman who has her four legged companion of 13 years to thank for his continued inspiration. This neighborhood is where I began my journey 40 years ago when my young parents resided just a block north of where I live now and it is once more my backyard again!
This is Jarvis/Church/College St. smack dab in the center of downtown Toronto....an area teeming with pride, love of life, compassion, empathy and dogs galore!!!!
My goal is to provide my clients with peace of mind. I always do my best to adapt to the particular needs of every dog owner that calls me. Although I have my general rates listed in the section "SERVICES" I can alter them for specific cases that warrant a lower rate. This can be a temporary arrangement or a long term one.
I want to see more dogs that are home bound out on the street each day, if only for a brief excursion, just to break up the isolation and monotony of being cooped up all day for many hours. If I can reach those people whose only excuse is "I cannot afford a dog walker!"
Then here I am to tell them: "Oh yes YOU CAN!!!"
